Do to the press of my schedule as a teacher and practitioner I can no longer send out individual herbs to my clients or students, so I am recommending the following as the best quality herbal tincture line. These tinctures are predominately made from brandy, which gives the best taste and a very fine representation of the constituents, using the fresh herb in almost all cases. The fresh herb extracted in a moderate level of alcohol seems to preserve many of the constituents which might otherwise be chemically altered by a high proof alcohol and certainly by drying of the herb. Most large herb companies have to dry their herbs in order to work with them because fresh herbs 'can't wait.' It is also possible that brandy increases the circulation and penetration of the medicinal plant into the organism. These remedies are made the way I have made my own medicines for over twenty years.
